A Multi-Therapeutic Approach
If you're looking for a solution to your thinning hair, you want to start a program and see results sooner rather than later. The most effective way to do that is using more than one proven therapy. It's similar to losing weight; you could lose weight slowly by changing your diet to a healthier one, or you could change your diet and exercise to achieve your goal faster. The same goes for hair restoration. You could achieve better scalp health by treating it slowly or combining better scalp health with Low-Level Laser Therapy to achieve faster results. You can combine better scalp health and laser therapy with topical solutions to reach your goal much faster because you are treating thinning hair with three proven therapies.
You may wonder whether you have to stay in a treatment program for the rest of your life. After slowing or even stopping the progression of your thinning hair, you'll want to maintain it and any hair you've regrown. It's similar to dieting; once you've lost weight and toned your body, you probably won't start eating fatty foods with empty calories and sit around doing nothing physical to maintain your weight and physical strength. The same is valid for retaining the hair you've regrown. For instance, if you're struggling with the most common type of hair loss, Androgenic Alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss), this will always be present, and you'll need to combat it as long as you want to keep growing your hair. You won't have to treat it as aggressively as you did to halt the thinning and regrow hair, but you'll want to maintain what you've gained. For example, this could look like continuing your scalp health by using shampoo, conditioner, and styling products that are gentle and free of toxic chemicals as they don't cause inflammation or clog the hair follicle pores once weekly laser treatments or staying on the growth factors a couple of times a month may also be recommended. Every treatment plan is customized to you and your specific situation since everyone and every condition is different. If you are reducing or stopping the progression of your thinning hair, you will want to maintain that and any hair you’ve regrown. There again, it is similar to dieting. Once you have lost weight and toned your body, you probably are not going to start eating fatty food and foods with empty calories and sit around doing nothing physical to maintain your weight and physical strength, or the pounds are going to start coming back on and you are going to lose muscle strength and tone again. The same is valid for maintaining the hair you have regrown. Growth Factors
What are they, and how do they work?
Growth Factors are protein molecules produced by our bodies naturally. They stimulate cellular growth and function. Different growth factors are present in hair, balanced and functioning in combination with antioxidants to maintain a healthy follicle structure. The more growth factors you have in the hair follicle, the thicker, fuller, and more vibrant your hair looks and feels.
Unfortunately, as we age, the amount of these youth-preserving growth factors is decreased dramatically, as well as your hair’s ability to grow as full and thick as it once did. The older, aging hair lacks those growth factors that keep your hair looking fuller, thicker, shinier, and more radiant.
Growth Factors For Hair Restoration
Studies have shown that certain growth factors have influenced growing hair: the growth factors extracted from people undergoing Platelet-Rich Plasma Injections (PRP) and those produced artificially from plants. I use and recommend growth factors derived from plants.
Growth factors have been used medically for the last 20 years to treat blood diseases and cancers and have a strong history with wound healing. Today, growth factors play a role in skin and hair rejuvenation. Through medical research, companies have identified vital growth factors that facilitate our skin and hair age reversal.
Growth factors bind to receptors on the surface of a cell, resulting in the stimulation of cell growth and function. Only one growth factor and one receptor will come together. Once the growth factor and receptor join, an electrical signal is sent to the cell's nucleus, telling it to divide, survive, or receive nutrients. The growth factor provides the cell with instructions and will act accordingly.
Growth Factor Technology
Growth factors can be produced by genetic engineering in a laboratory and play a role in skin and hair rejuvenation.
The growth factors I use in my hair restoration programs have been developed by top scientists, doctors, and researchers in a laboratory and are 99.9% pure and include :
Six of the most potent growth factors, each with a specific job in revitalizing the hair. Twenty-one types of amino acids are vital to the health of the hair follicles.
Vitamin B Complex feeds the hair follicles with nutrients hair needs to thrive.
Minerals such as zinc, iron, copper, peptide AHK-Cu, and magnesium help keep hair looking healthy.
Antioxidants are known to counteract the damage from free radicals on the scalp.
Low-Level Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is defined as a cool laser that effectively stimulates the scalp area and causes an increase in blood flow called Photo-Bio-Stimulation. This process stimulates blood circulation, increasing the size of the capillaries, which deliver energy and nutrients to the hair follicle.
Studies have shown that :
100% Regrew hair
93% Regrew greater than 20% more hair
77% Regrew greater than 51% more hair
There are five distinct effects known to occur with LLLT :
ATP - An increase in ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and protein synthesis, causing an increase in osmotic cellular function.
Cell Growth - Improved cell proliferation.
Protein Growth- Increase in protein synthesis, causing a change in cell membrane permeability,
Circulation - Increased blood circulation by 54% after just one treatment, supplying nutrients to the hair follicle.
Capillaries - LLLT has been clinically proven to increase the size of the capillaries under the hair follicle, which allows more nutrients to be carried to the follicle.
The FDA clears more than 30 laser devices to grow hair. In-salon (clinic) devices usually offer 120-185 Red Light Diodes. In-salon sessions are suggested twice a week for 30 minutes each time.
Laser Caps, brushes, headbands, and other laser devices are available for at-home use if someone cannot visit in-salon twice a week. These at-home devices are used every other day for 10-30 minutes.
These devices should NOT be used every day. A client should use the laser one day and allow a day to rest.
Who would be a good candidate for laser therapy?
